Hi, I am Elisa Maria. Nice to meet you!
I grew up in the periphery of Rio de Janeiro. I was that kind of little girl who loved reading, even dictionaries!
My passion for information helped me to overcome very serious social problems I faced as a girl from the peripheries. As a result, I became an international journalist and now I dedicate my life to using information for social change.
It has been a beautiful journey. I had the chance to live in 5 different countries: Brazil, Italy, South Africa, India, and Germany! I also had work experiences in countries like the US, Malawi, Mexico, and Mozambique.
All these experiences deepen my passion for humanity, especially for the most excluded populations.
It explains my focus on human-centered projects and why I am learning Data Science.
I have been studying data for development and engaged with tech4dev projects to amplify the impact of my work and benefit more and more people.
